Sydcor focused on product delivery experiences
Austin, Texas , January 16, 2008 -- Austin-based Sydcor
LLC, a supply chain managed services provider, has recently completed a
management buy-out. The new leadership team is composed of veteran Sydcor
executives and industry experts. Working with leading consumer electronics
companies, Sydcor designs product delivery solutions to move finished products
through the last mile of the supply chain to reach customers. "
"Sydcor has the talent to help large companies solve critical problems," said
Darryl Kelinske, CEO, principal and founding legal counsel. "When the
opportunity arose to move into an ownership role, I reached out to industry
leaders and was able to assemble an A-list team. With a strong starting point
and outstanding reputation, we are now focused on actively expanding Sydcor's
reach and potential."
Sydcor has been developing smartHUBsTM to
enable global manufacturers to create customized solutions for regional
markets. The one-of-a-kind managed service integrates inside manufacturers'
systems, processes and controls to react to changing market demands while
maximizing value and end-user's experience.
"Sydcor is focused on leading our customers," said Keith Jacoby, vice
president, operations and product delivery. "Consumer electronics companies
have moved to a world-wide supply chain; they are combating increased lead
times and deteriorating service levels as they deliver regionalized product
offerings. We collaborate with manufacturers to overcome key obstacles and
execute customized product delivery."
Sydcor has been tapped by mid-sized and Fortune 1000 companies to manage
complex and customized product delivery. The company offers bundled solutions
based on its core capabilities, including materials management and sourcing;
design, prototyping and testing of packaging; ultralite fulfillment; customer
relationship management services; and reverse logistics solutions.
"We like to say that we work with big companies to solve critical problems, but
in reality we're best at building processes and procedures that keep
manufacturers from getting to that point," notes Kirk Coburn, principal and
vice president, marketing and relationships. "In most cases, we're chosen
because our clients need product delivery solutions that are beyond their focus
and existing capabilities."
Founded in 1997, Sydcor earned a place in the Austin Business Journal's annual
"Fast 50" competition in 2004 and 2005 for rapidly growing companies and was
rated one of the top places to work in Austin. In 2006, Sydcor earned industry
recognition for successfully handling the recall, replacement and disposal of
millions of batteries. Sydcor is headquartered in Austin, Texas and has
fulfillment facilities in Nashville, Tennessee and Fairfield, Ohio. In
2008, Sydcor expects its corporate office staff to grow in excess of 25
percent.
The new Sydcor management team is composed of:
Darryl Kelinske - Principal and CEO
Darryl has three decades of experience working directly with owners of emerging
and high-growth companies. Working with Sydcor since its inception in 1997, and
initially serving as the general counsel and advisor to the company's CEO and
owner, Darryl took over as the company's chief operations officer in 2005 and
actively managed every element of the world's largest consumer electronics
recall. When the opportunity arose for Sydcor to grow and diversify, Darryl
hand-picked a leadership team to propel the company forward.
Keith Jacoby - Vice President, Operations and Product Delivery
Keith has more than 20 years of procurement and supply chain experience. Prior
to Sydcor, he spent seven years at Dell, where he progressed through management
positions in reverse logistics, services, supply chain and procurement. Keith
was instrumental in streamlining the supply chain for a leading peripheral
manufacturer by substantially reducing supply chain time and costs, which
resulted in a repatriation of 160 jobs.
Henry Heil - Principal and Vice President, Design and Engineering
Henry joined the firm in 2006 and brings more than 23 years of experience.
He spent 11 years with Nokia as senior design manager, established the Americas
packaging engineering division and managed a global team of
research-and-development packaging design engineers. Henry has achieved
lifetime Certified Packaging Professional status through the Institute of
Packaging Professionals.
Damien Matherne - Principal and CFO
Damien joined Sydcor from Tatum LLC, a U.S.-based executive and consulting
services firm where he provided interim financial management and advisory
services. Prior to Tatum, Damien worked as the director of finance and
accounting for SRS Management. Damien began his career at
PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Kuykendall "Kirk" Coburn - Principal and Vice President, Marketing and
Relationships
Prior to joining Sydcor, Kirk founded the PGA Tour Network on XM Satellite
Radio and was the president of Pure Golf, Inc., a leading provider of golf,
tennis and outdoor programming to the satellite radio industry. Kirk also
founded Blush Marketing, LLC, an experiential marketing and sponsorship
consulting agency. Kirk worked for eight years at Dell in sales, marketing and
global procurement.
